Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Widodo headed a high-ranking politico-economic delegation in his trip to Tehran .
He was welcomed by Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and held meetings with President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
Speaking to IRNA , the Indonesian president described his visit as important and said Iran can play a pivotal role in promoting dialogue among member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in different sectors and at various levels.
He said the two regional organizations must be encouraged to draw up a practical roadmap for taking genuine steps particularity in the economic sector.
In a meeting in Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, the business communities of the two countries signed 10 agreements in banking, insurance, petrochemicals, agriculture and other fields of common interest. The two governments agreed to increase bilateral trade and investment cooperation to 2 Billion USD
